Strawberry pie.
Mix together 1/4 C. sugar and 1/2 qt. of berries and mash to a pulp. Add up to 1/2 C. water (depending on how juicy the berries are), a dash of salt and the cornstarch and mix well. Bring to a slow boil, stirring constantly until thickened and deep pink in color. Remove from heat and stir in remaining sugar and the butter; mix well. Pour remaining berries into baked and cooled pie crust. Pour berry glaze berries and chill well until set. Serve with whipped cream.
