Cream sugar, margarine, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Spoon a scant 1/2 of the batter into greased tube or bundt pan. Mix nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon well and sprinkle half over batter in pan. Spoon the rest of the batter over topping and then sprinkle remaining topping over that. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool 15 minutes in pan. Turn out and sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool. (This cake freezes well. Don't add powdered sugar until ready to serve.
