An easy and delicious sure thing original recipe to please all.

A shredded chicken smothered in a creamy salsa sauce served over rice.

"I was worried that using fat free cream cheese would make it bland but the salsa had so much flavor that it was PERFECTLY balanced! I only made a pound of chicken with a 16oz. jar of salsa and 6oz. of fat free cream cheese since there is no way I could consume 4 pound of chicken! Two servings of it are currently in my freezer... I will be interested to see how it tastes after being defrosted! Great flavor + inexpensive due to few ingredients + healthy = THANK YOU for this TERRIFIC recipe! "

4 pounds Frozen Boneless Chicken Breast or tenders
1 24 oz jar Tostitos mild chunky salsa
1 8 oz Cream Cheese

Original recipe makes 12 Servings



Place frozen chicken in a medium to large crock pot.

Pour the salsa over the chicken.

Put the lid on the crock pot and set the crock pot to low for 4-5 hours based on your crock pot.

You want the chicken to be cooked through and very tender so at the end of cooking time it easily pulls apart with 2 forks.

I do this right in the crock pot when I use chicken tenders, Breasts can be taken out and shredded on a plate and then returned to the crock pot. (Shredding the chicken ensures the great flavor in every bite!)

Last- I then melt the cream cheese into the chicken and salsa mixture.

Serve over rice with a side of fresh Red pepper slices.


We have found that even though we love a variety of salsa brands Tostitos works by far the best for this recipe!

I am a wimp when it come to medium and hot salsa. My family is not but they still LOVE this dish! You of corse can try mild or hot Tostitos salsa.

I make this meal for friends when they have a baby, or after surgery etc, since it is a sure thing their families all love and 1/2 can feed my family and the other 1/2 theirs! Or we love the left overs!

Very simple, tasty recipe that I always have the ingredients for, making it perfect for middle of the week when we're all busy, but want to sit down and have dinner as a family without much fuss. I do add a can of corn and a can of black beans towards the end, and sometimes some diced chili peppers, and serve it over rice. The kids love it, which is always a bonus!

Excellent recipe! I used 3lbs of frozen tenderloins and I still have a ton of leftovers. I ate this over quinoa and it was delicious. Hoping to consume or freeze all the leftovers this week. I added a lot of chili-lime seasoning, cumin, garlic salt, and seasoned salt since it is a little bland. Those spices definitely helped a lot and it ended up being delicious.

One of our family favorites! I blend the salsa to get rid of any chunks for our picky eaters. We ended up putting it into soft she'll tacos for the kids. They couldn't get enough!

Super easy and delicious! I used fat free cream cheese and served over brown rice. Wrap the leftovers in a flour tortilla for a quick yummy lunch!

The concept of this dish is good, but the recipe as-is just too bland for my family's taste. There is really not much flavor. I used medium salsa and it was still extremely bland. My recommendation would be to add some cumin, some jalapeno, some green onions, fresh lime, and cilantro to add some much needed flavor. And some red pepper, corn, and black beans for color and to make it a more substantial meal. After I made those adjustments, we enjoyed it over rice and it was a nice easy meal.
