Ready in 15 minutes

This is a recipe that my mom tweaked from the back of a steak sauce bottle WAY back. Pineapple and bell pepper are perfect compliments to the meatballs. We usually serve over sticky rice with a simple veggie side. Yum!

1 lb Ground beef
3 tbsp steak sauce
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 clove of garlic crushed
1 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Vegetable oil
1 can pineapple chunks
1/2 tsp Ground ginger
1 tbsp Cider vinegar
2 tbsp steak sauce
2 tbsp Soy sauce
3/4 cup Beef broth
1 green pepper cut into strips
1 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tbsp water

Original recipe makes 4 Servings

Lightly mix beef, 3 tbsp A-1, egg, bread crumbs, garlic, and salt. Form into meatballs. Brown well in oil. Drain.

Add remaining ingredients EXCEPT cornstarch, water, and pepper strips. Simmer covered for 5 minutes.

Combine cornstarch and water. Stir into the heated mixture. Add green pepper. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.

I must have made it wrong. It was all salt, no sweet nor sour.

I've found that prepping the meatballs ahead of time and letting them sit in the fridge for a few hours works well. They hold together better and cut down on the actual "cooking dinner" time. [I posted this recipe.]
