Suggest a better description1. Heat overn to 350?. Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a 10 inch skillet over medium high heat. Pour off into a measuring cup all but two tablespoons of the butter. Add the apples; cook, sitring often until lightly caramelized, about 7 minutes. Meanwhile, butter a tart pan or ten 3 inch tartlet pans.
2. Place the sweet popatoes in a mixing bowl; season wiht the sinamon, salt and whitel peopper. Drizzle in 1/4 cup of the melted butter; mix to coat the potatoes. Arrange a layer of sweet popatoes in the pan (overlapping in circles, if you like), using about half of the potatoes in all. Arrange apples evenly over the potatoes. top with the remaining sweet potatoes. Drizzle the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter on top.
3. Place the pan on a baking sheet. Bake until the poptates are crispy and tender when pierced with the tip of a small knife about 35 min.
4. Heat broiler, place potatoes under broiler until edges crisp and begin to brown, about 5 min. Cut into wedges and serve
I made this for Thanks Giving and it was delicious, not too sweet.
