Ready in 45 minutes

I got this recipe from my mother-in-law. It is WONDERFUL!!!

An additional bonus is when you freeze it or stick it in the fridge it tastes even better.

1 1/2 lb. ground beef (or turkey)
1 pkg. taco mix
1 pkg. powdered ranch mix
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can stewed tomatoes (I like mexican or italian flavore
3 cans beans (black, kidney, pinto, butter, your choice)
1 can hominy

Original recipe makes 6 Servings

You need a large pan for this recipe.

Brown ground meat, then drain off the fat.

Add the can of diced tomatoes, do not strain the juices. Add taco seasoning, mix well.

Add the can of stewed tomatoes, do not strain the juice. Add ranch seasoning, mix well. You may want to cut the tomatoes a bit to add consistency yo the ingredients.

Rinse and drain cans of beans and hominy, add to pan and stir. Let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve and enjoy.

This is a favorite around my house.

Don't leave out the ranch, this makes it extra good.

We liked this a lot! I served it over Fritos, kind of a variation on Frito Pie. Had on the table shredded cheese, sour cream, avocados, and chopped tomatoes. Big Hit!!

South of the border chili would be the best way i could describe it. Really liked the addition of the hominy beans. I think i would rather have this in place of chili .

Loves this recipe! I added a can of corn and served over lettuce. I also sprinkles some corn chips and shredded cheese over the top. Very easy to make and HUGE portion!

We loved it with turkey! We skipped the hominy and opted for another can of beans instead. Easy and delicious.
