Add onions, peas, and broth; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and cook for 3 minutes. Add cream and the 2 tablespoons cheese; return to boiling. Add pasta; stir to coat. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Divide among 4 individual pasta bowls Top with additional cheese, if desired.
