This is the old fashioned version

Melt butter in skillet. Add flour, salt and pepper. Slowly add milk and cream mix while stirring constantly. Boil 2 minutes while stirring. Reduce heat and cook 10 minutes, keep stirring. Gradually add cheddar and simmer until melted. Mix in cooked macaroni. Put everything in a baking dish. Add a layer of breadcrumbs, as much as you like. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.

Hotdoxy 3 months agoMine came out dry, It had good flavor. I used small shell macaroni and a quart of half and half. Next time I am going to half the amount of flour used in the sauce.
palaumelissa 1 year agoMine came out grainy and disgusting, I read that adding the cheese while still hot does this, so wait for it to cool before adding.
BossHam 2 years agoJust tried this tonight and it was a HUGE success! Everyone in the family enjoyed it and it was pretty simple to make...I will definitely be making this dish again!

gmpoliskey 3 years agoMade this dish a few time and its been great everytime....I like to make it for the holidays or if wee go to someones house for a party. Its always a hit with everyone.
