A simple tzatziki sauce.

"This sauce was perfect. It had just the right amount of garlic and dill. I used dried dill because I was afraid the fresh dill would taste too strong. I'm going to use fresh dill next time and compare the two. Thanks for sharing! "

Ingredients

14 ounces Greek yogurt; 2 (7-ounce) containers
1 hothouse cucumber; unpeeled and seeded
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons lemon juice; freshly squeezed
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon fresh dill; minced
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic; minced
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Place the yogurt in a medium bowl. Grate the cucumber on a box grater and squeeze the grated cucumber with your hand to remove some of the liquid. Add it to the yogurt along with the sour cream, lemon juice, vinegar, dill, garlic, salt and pepper and stir

Made this to go with homemade gyros. This was a hit and received much higher acclaim than did the gyros. Spoons were licked. Now thats a great sauce. Thank you for posting. We all enjoyed this. Will make often.

Made Tzatziki for the first time using this recipe! I made it to put on homemade gyros. I definitely recommend! It was a very tasty touch that my husband and I really enjoyed!

Fantastic sauce! I used it on falafel and it was the perfect addition. I cut the salt down a bit and was still great sauce.
