Delicious casserole. This was a favorite dish of my family's growing up. Great winter dish and perfect for leftovers, if you have any!
Heat oven to 425. Cook and stir sausage and onion in 10 inch skillet until sausage is brown and onion is tender; drain fat. Stir in tomato sauce, green pepper, 2 tablespoons wondra flour or bisquick, basil, fennel seed, and marjoram. Heat to boiling. Boil and stir one minute. Pour into ungreased glass baking pan (13 x 9 x 2). Arrange mozzarella cheese slices on top. Hand beat eggs, milk, oil, 1 cup wondra or bisquick and salt until smooth; pour over cheese slices. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake until puffy and brown, 25 - 30 minutes. Serve warm.
Sliced mozzarella, rather than shredded, needs to be used so the topping stays on top.
