2 tb Barbecue sauce
1 ts Salt
1/2 c Onions; finely chopped
1 ts Dried basil
1 Stalk celery; chopped
1 c butter beans; Canned
3/4 c Barley; cooked
1/2 c Quick oatmeal; uncooked
1 1/2 tb Soy sauce
3/4 c Bulgur; cooked
1 Clove garlic; finely minced
Black Pepper; to taste

Original recipe makes 6



With a fork or potato masher, mash beans just slightly. They should be chunky, not pureed. Add the rest of the ingredients and form 6 patties. Spray skillet with oil and brown patties on both sides. Even my "meat and potatoes" husband enjoyed these! Filling and satisfying. We put these on thin whole grain sandwich rolls. They were delicious. Next time I make them I'll try shredded carrot in the mix.
