This is a tasty and very easy chicken cacciatore recipe for the crock pot. Start it in the morning and it's done by dinner time.
"Great and easy recipe. Very flavorful! To personalize it a bit, I added artichokes, black olives and capers! It was quick to prepare! Highly recommend when you have little time to prepare. I cooked it for 7 hrs on slow. I used chicken cutlets, sliced thin."- KHR
Place chicken in bottom of crock pot. Mix ingredients in a bowl. Pour mixture over chicken. Cook on high until dish begins to boil. Reduce heat to low and continue cooking until dinner.
If the chicken is frozen or you get a late start, do not reduce heat to low. Leave on high and cook at least six hours.
Serve over white rice.
Thaddeus6320 3 months agoI thought it was great! I used a whole chicken and cooked on low for 7 hours. After reading some if the reviews, I cut back the oregano to 1tsp and used only 1 bay leaf. Only thing I'll do different next time is add artichokes and mushrooms.
Twydyelliott 3 months agoMy picky kids loved it. I didn't have carrots so I didn't add then
DomenellaFam1 6 months agoWAY too much oregano, and the bay leaves give it a bitterness. Also, I found the cook time too long because the chicken was overcooked (measured over 200deg). I may try this again, though, without the bay leaves and eliminate the oregano altogether. Fresh basil gave it a nice touch.
paulavaskeroeterdink 1 year agoToo much oregano, but otherwise pretty good.

Kmart829 2 years agoVery easy an tasted great! I omitted celery seed and carrots because I didn't have them on hand and it still turned out great! I also uses partially frozen chicken breasts (4) and cooked on high for 5 1/2 hrs.
