"This was the best waffle recipe EVER!!!! My husband isnt a big waffle eater but when I made these he ate 5 helpings and would of eaten more but there was none left. I did follow the 2 egg suggestion and folded in egg whites. Will never make another waffle but these ones!!!!! Would give more stars if I could. Thank you so much for posting this recipe. Truely the best waffles EVER!!!!!!!"

Ingredients

Are you making this?
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup whole milk or buttermilk
1/3 cup Vegetable oil
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons Sugar
3/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Original recipe makes 4

Servings

Preparation

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix well. Add the milk, vegetable oil, egg, sugar and vanilla and mix well. Let the batter sit for 30 minutes.

Preheat a waffle iron. Do not use non-stick spray on the waffle iron; the oil in the batter will allow the waffle to release easily. Follow the directions on your waffle iron to cook the waffles. Serve immediately with butter and syrup.

Mm-Mmm!! Followed 2 egg suggestion, folding in whipped egg whites - made 3 waffles in round waffle iron (3.5 min each).

Amazing, if you do the fluffy egg thing & double the sugar. Don't be scared of the watery batter. I have a Belgian Waffle Maker so I needed to triple this recipe and I put 3 tbs of lemon juice in my milk for 10 mins before I mixed the recipe together, but that gives you time to separate & fluff the egg whites. My go to waffle recipe from now on.

I've tried a couple waffle recipes before this one and none were as great as this one! The waffles were fluffy on the inside and golden brown and crispy on the outside. Perfect recipie! It made 8 waffles for me.

Very good, I didnt have corn starch so I used extra flour and they were still very good.

Snow storm morning. All the kids were home. The waffles were a huge hit! Folding beaten egg-white into the batter makes them really light and fluffy. Easy to make.. We added chocolate chips too. Comments... M: 'Delicious' 'really good with ice cream!' A: 'I don't want to stop eating' W: 'More please' S: 'Bookmark this recipe, it's yummy.'
