High-fiber wheat bread makes this french toast a hearty alternative to the 'fluffy' texture of white bread. Aside from the bacon, this recipe is a healthy one.

Microwave bacon slices wrapped in paper towel for about 2-1/2 minutes. Let sit until toast is ready.
Lightly beat egg whites, pumpkin pie spice and Splenda in a shallow bowl until well mixed. Soak bread in the mix on both sides until all the mixture has been absorbed (dribble any remaining on top of toast while cooking). Meanwhile, spray a skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Cook toast until golden brown on both sides. Place toast on serving plate, and top with Smart Balance and syrup. Serve with bacon on the side.
