Helen Grendahl' recipe
1. Combine yeast, water and sugar. Agitate slightly. Allow to rise for 5-10 min.
2. In a Kitchen aid , mix hot water, butter, salt, sugar, and 2 to 4 cups of flour. Add yeast mixture when it is ready. Continue adding flour until it is ready to knead on a breadboard. Knead.
3. Put dough in an oiled bread bowl and put a pat of butter on top. Let rise until doubled in size. Punch down and let rise until doubled in size again. Remove from bread bowl and allow dough to rest for 15 minutes on a breadboard.
4. Divide dough into fourths. Put ough into buttered bread pans and let rise.
5. Bake in a 375° oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cover bread after 20 minutes of baking. Butter the tops of the loaves after baking.
