This is a medium consistency good for decorating and icing cake
To get a thin consistency simply add about 2 tsp of milk (one at a time) till you get desired consistency
In mixing bowl combine Shortening with liquid ingredients ( extracts and milk) on Low speed until all liquids are well incorporated.
Now add meringue powder mix in low speed.
once incorporated slowly add sifted powdered sugar (1cup at a time) until all incorporated
This recipe is for a medium consistency. Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
>>> At this point if u desire a thinner consistency u can milk 1tsp at a time until u get desired consistency
>>Make sure you Sift the powdered sugar ( this will make butter cream smooth and lump free)
>>Do not mix in High speed otherwise you will over mix and cause buttercream to be lumpy
