Suggest a better description1. In mixing bowl combine sugar and salt
2. Warm milk one minute in microwave
3. Add milk to mixing bowl and stir to dissolve sugar and salt
4. Cover and proof yeast ten minutes
5. Add one tablespoon shortening and enough flour to form an easily handled dough
6. Knead dough quickly and lightly until smooth and elastic
7. Place dough in greased bowl
8. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk (about 1 1/2 hours)
9. Divide dough into 20 equal pieces
10. Shape into balls, flatten slightly, brush sides with melted shortening and place close together in 8" cake pan
11. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk
12. Place pan on rack in pot of boiling water
13. Cover pan and steam 15 minutes; be sure water does not come up over dough and keep water boiling vigorously
