I like lower salt foods.

yeahhttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxI hate celebs.. I do.. I have fed so many 'rock stars' and government people that it's annoying. but this is a man that I want his autograph.. and living this close to atlanta I really ought to got on that! although I dread ever cooking for this man!  Alton and chef Keller (from the french laundry) are the only two people I am scared of.

Re: The Avocado Cakehttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxI know it sounds weird.  But was also watching Chopped (I know, wrong group here) and they sweetened avacado for the dessert round and it seemed to turn out really well.

Re: Making Cooking Accessible, Informative and Funhttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxI am addicted to America's Test Kitchen and if we could purchase cable a la carte the Food Network and CNN are probably the only channels that I'd need.

Wow Weckle! I thought I was a cookbook junkie. I've got nothing on you - yet. My collection does include CookWise. Have you prepared any of Corriher's recipes that I should consider? It's been a while since I cracked that one open.

Re: Making Cooking Accessible, Informative and Funhttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxFor me, the corny bits are what help me remember the useful information. As for Shirley O. Corriher, I have a collection of over 200 cookbooks that includes "CookWise" The secrets of cooking revealed. Shirley explains the hows & whys of successful cooking!

I realize that the corny post was 1 yr 6wk and 4 days ago but the more recent post by divalicious brought my attention to it.

I also follow America's Test Kitchen but not so much since I discovered big oven!

Re: Making Cooking Accessible, Informative and Funhttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxI know this is an old post, but I was just looking around the site and was curious about the Alton Brown fans. Do any of you follow America's Test Kitchen as well? What about Shirley Corriher, a food scientist and cookbook author who often appears on Good Eats? I love all of them for making me a better cook.

Re: CREAMY LASAGNAhttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxHaven't seen the Alton Brown episode, but have you had a chance to try our new "search options" feature on BigOven?

1)  Type "lasagna" into the search box above, and choose "Title" for your search target.

2)  You'll get a results page.  On that page, click the blue link that says "search options" or "more options".  (We are currently playing around a bit with the name for this.)

3)  Enter "cream cheese" in one of the "INGREDIENTS INCLUDE" boxes.  Press "Search BigOven".

You'll be taken to this page, which has several lasagna recipes with cream cheese in them:
