I would proof the yeast in the pineapple juice with a teaspoon of the syrup. Or substitute 1/4 cup of something with water. I don't have a bread machine, so I can only tell you how I usually proof yeast.
I don't see why you need to add any proofed yeast. if you are not sure your batch is good proof a little on the side. You do not need to add already proofed yeast to recipes for the yeast to work.
