My mom put dinner on the table and said breakfast isn't until tomorrow morning. I truly appreciate this now because I am open to many foods and always willing to try something new. My husband on the other hand...well I am working on it. :-)

My 14 month old and I share a plate. I pile it with salad, meat, whatever i've fixed and put it between us. She tries everything. My nine year old loves salads and requested creme brulee instead of cake for multiple birthdays. Food is sustenance, it's not a battle. If you make it about control, they will use it to control you. Trust me, when they're hungry, they will eat. And they will eat what you put in front of them. No child has ever starved itself to death. No need to worry or push!
