Subject: Espresso Heaven

I just came home from Williams-Sonoma with a gorgeous new Jura Z5 fully automatic Espresso Machine.  I am sitting here working on some code, and enjoying a delicious cappucino, which was made with a single press of a button.  Wow!  I'm in espresso heaven.  It's terrific.  It is also ridiculously expensive, but I think it just may be worth it.

Cappucino sounds yummy about now.   And who cares about ridiculously expensive?  We only go round once.

Talking about expensive, I just booked a trip to Costa Rica, so I can use that wonderful new ball head I got with my amazon prize certificate.   Maybe I'll practice on some food photography first though.

Enjoy your new toy Steve.  You deserve it.

so now, Steve, I can reply and say congrats on the espresso machine.  I have a Barista that is several years old and I considered it ridiculously expensive when I paid $600 for it.  $3000 ... well, I'm not ready for that just yet ... lol

however!  anything for that perfect cup of coffee.  and of course, no bean grind mess on the counter.  keeping my espresso corner clean and sparkling is probably more work than any other kitchen cleaning I do.

:)

Six hours into ownership and no signs of "buyers remorse" :-).  Thanks you two -- have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Hey everyone...
I'm on a perpetual search for a recipe that can hold a candle to Starbucks' Mocha Frappuccino. Can anyone help me?
I've seen a few interesting recipes around but they call for hazelnuts and vanilla ice cream, which Starbucks doesn't use. I've tried a number of recipes and cannot get the right taste.  I do have a lovely drip coffee maker which also makes espresso, so that should help!
(I'm in denial about this being a wild goose chase.)

Just to follow up on the Jura Capresso thread, it's been about five months since my purchase and I'm still loving it.  Have used it for a brunch gathering; worked very well and guests remarked that they loved the drinks.

Best of all, I used to be a near-daily visitor to Starbucks, but since purchasing the machine five months ago, I've been into Starbucks exactly once.  (I have nothing against Starbucks, just think it's a pretty significant daily expense.)  At this rate, the machine will "break even" in about a year or less.  Definitely worth it, and I'm surprised how I have absolutely zero buyers remorse over it...  I definitely thought that an espresso machine would be the prime candidate for buyers remorse...
