I live in a northern suburb of Detroit with my husband and our 3 cats. Our daughter is studying about an hour from home. I enjoy traveling, reading, golfing and cooking, not necessarily in that order!
My faavorite foods are comfort foods that remind me of my childhood; stews, chilis, one-pot meals, soups. I love trying new recipes. My favorite meal to cook if I have the time is Bigos (Polish hunter's stew.) I also love braised veal shanks and Osso Bucco.

Scalloped Potatoes and HamThis was very good! My husband said to add it ti "The Keepers." High praise, indeed!

Flemish Beef Stew Cooked in BeerI made this the other night with a few variations - I added sauteed "Baby Bella" mushrooms and some fingerling potatoes. I also added dumplings. My husband suggesting adding some carrots next time, to make it seem like a more traditional stew. The flavor was excellent. Afte combining all of the ingredients, I put the covered dutch oven in the oven at 350F for a couple of hours, rather than cook it on the stovetop.
