What's for dinner?
Crock Pot Harvest Dinner
I am a new cook so to speak.  I never liked cooking but now I am finding it to be a lot of fun and rewarding.  It also helps since my husband was the only cook before.  Now we motivate each other to try new meals.  It's a great way to make your guests visit satisfying, too.

We didn't really like this. But it looks like a lot of people do.

Mexican Lasagna

Mexican Lasagna

Mmmmmmm! This was decicious! I ate the leftovers for lunch today with chunks of avacodo on top. I used corn tortillas. My husband and I both loved it. This goes into my personally created cookbook (binder) as a staple meal!

Chicken Pot Pie

Chicken Pot Pie

This was very good. It's a keeper! I tried a pot pie a few weeks ago that used Bisquick for the crust and didn't like it. Using pie crust is much better.

Chicken Milanese - Breaded Chicken Cutlets

Chicken Milanese - Breaded Chicken Cutlets

This is very good. The directions were long so I wasn't sure how easy it would be. I skipped the butterfly portion of cutting the chicken and just tenderized the pieces as they were. It wasn't hard and will get faster each time. I like the suggestions for various uses to make different meals. This may be useful with the prepare ahead and freeze it idea.

Grandma's Corn Pudding

Grandma's Corn Pudding

I made this corn pudding as a side dish for my Christmas meal. Just because it's called "pudding" doesn't mean it's a dessert. Everyone loved it! This is a simple and delicious recipe. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Simple Spinach and Red Bell Pepper Pasta

Simple Spinach and Red Bell Pepper Pasta

This was very good and I like the easy part! The meal can be made quickly on a week night. I didn't believe that the recipe could be right for all that spinich but then I found that it cooked down and could use the full 10 ounces (one pre-packaged bag). This meal could use a little more flavor. Thanks for sharing your recipe! I will definitely make this again.

Mexican Casserole

Mexican Casserole

Looking at the difference between your active time and total time, I'm assuming it takes 40 - 50 minutes to cook in the oven (depending on if you included the 10 minutes cooling time). Is that correct? I didn't see a cooking time and didn't want to check for bubbling constantly. Thanks. This looks good. I want to try it!

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Excellent! I awarded Sherri a medal because this recipe is far beyond the average home cooked meal in flavor. It's like dining at a five-star restaurant in my own home! We put the chicken over tomato-basil fettucine and poured the sage-butter sauce over it. Heavenly delicious! Definitely a keeper and one to impress guests!

Lauri's Stuffed Shells (12 Points)

Lauri's Stuffed Shells (12 Points)

I didn't like the marinara sauce out of the jar that I chose. I messed up the amounts of cheese. I will try this again and try to get it right and pick a better sauce. I think I will look into homemade marinara sauces because we can't find any out of the jar that we like!

Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip

Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip

The dip was absolutely delicious! I appreciated how the cook tried to make these as healthy as possible. My problem was that I thought we had Tabasco but didn't and used some other hot sauce instead. Tabasco would have been better. And the wings might be better if marinated for a while. Great recipe. We can play around with the hot sauce as we wish.

Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff

This was a great way to cook stroganoff - in the slow cooker! The sauce was too rich for me and my husband. We plan to try this again experimenting with a reduced amount of cream cheese - probably half the amount called for. There was an abundance of sauce so leaving out some of the cream cheese probably won't be a problem Liked it over extra wide egg noodles. It will take a little experimenting to get to our liking but a great start!
