We left out the File powder because it was just the right thickness and flavor. I would add it the next time we make it to see the difference. We had to go to the "Big" dutch oven so watch the size of your pot when you make it. Very awesome dish. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

Use only 80/20 Hamburger. If you have a good butcher, tell him you want ground chuck on medium grind. Potato rolls are small dinner rolls that work perfect for these. You can find them in either the bread isle or near the deli area. Sambal Oelek is a Chinese chile sauce that you can find in either the Asian foods isle or at any asian food markets. Make sure it says Sambel Oelek, as there is another type that looks almost the same but has extra garlic in it. You want the straight chile type! [I posted this recipe.]

Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are so good, they should be illegal. I made my own Choc chips from some fancy chocolate bars and they turned out awesome. These shouldn't last more than an hour tomorrow as I am letting her take most of the them to work so I don't eat them all!

Leg of Lamb with Mustard Garlic and Rosemary

Leg of Lamb with Mustard Garlic and Rosemary

I think the next time I try this, I might cover it in the second half of the cooking process. Also, I'm not sure if you should any liquid to the pan or not but mine came out a little dry, however the flavor was there.

The total times may be off as it can take a while to get used to the sequence of things. Read through the entire recipe before you start. Preparation is key. [I posted this recipe.]

Sunday Pot Roast

Sunday Pot Roast

This one is a keeper. It was one of the best Pot Roasts that we have ever had. There were a few changes that we made though. First, we used a chuck roast as our choice of meat. Second, the potatoes went in at the turnover time as suggested by others. Even then, they were done in less than the hour and a half remaining cooking time. And finally, at the end we smooshed up one half of a potato and a carrot to give the sauce more texture. This is such a good recipe, make it once and you will be hooked.

Italian Beef

Italian Beef

This is fantastic. I printed the recipe out 4 months ago and never got around to making it. It's easy, and it's well worth the little effort that it takes to make it. I didn't notice anything in the recipe that says about covering it during cooking. So at the last stage, I covered it and was glad I did to keep in those awesome juices!

Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts with Sage Sauce and Creamy Arugula Pasta

Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts with Sage Sauce and Creamy Arugula Pasta

We made this dish tonight and I have to say that it was the best meal I've had in couple of weeks. The chicken was moist and extremely flavorful and the past was a perfect accompaniment. Though the recipe may seem slightly daunting at first, once you read through the whole thing, it's very easy. This would be a great dinner party show off dish for 6 people!

Italian Sausage Baked Ziti

Italian Sausage Baked Ziti

Recipe was outstanding. I had to make a few changes, trying to use up some things in the house. I substituted turkey sausage and I made a quick sauce from scratch. It came out great and everyone loved it!

I can't wait to make this. Have you tried any of the Pearl River Bridge sauces and vinegars?

Garlic - Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops

Garlic - Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops

These were very good with red potato mashed and some local grilled asparagus. I used fresh sage chopped finely and it was great. I think using fresh herbs (sage and thyme...hey maybe lemon thyme!) might be an interesting version.

A slow simmer is key. If you over boil the stock, as with any stock, you increase the number impurities in the finished product. [I posted this recipe.]

Thanks Beachbumette for the medal! I'll post the bread recipe this weekend when I make it again. That way I can take some photos as well.

Regarding your question about Nikon D series... I bought my first DSLR in November - a D90, and I love it. I've always wanted an SLR since my dad got his first Nikon in 1977. This is one of the recent food photos I've taken with it: http://www.bigoven.com/158273-Coconut-Macaroons-recipe.html
