I love flexible recipes like this! I made it with fat-reduced cream of mushroom soup, fat-free yogurt instead of sour cream, whole wheat macaroni, frozen mixed vegetables, ground turkey, red onion, green pepper, celery, and garlic, and for the topping shredded low-fat mozzarella and bread crumbs.

I modified this slightly - cooked the ground beef and onions first, then added the potatoes and liquid (instead of water I used chicken stock, which I had on hand). Instead of tomato sauce and barbecue sauce, I just used ketchup. It was even better than I expected.
