I am a single dad residing in Tulsa, Oklahoma who learned to cook as a child and learned how to homebrew beer, wine, and cider as a young adult. I like to cook for my two sons, and I particularly enjoy cooking with my yonger son who has taken an interest in the craft. Despite my profession as a nitpicky computer geek, in the kitchen I prefer a more chaotic environment where ingredients are rarely measured and recipes are taken as a mere guideline. If you have any trouble with a recipe of mine where I am rather ambiguous with the quantities then let me know and I will see what I can do to clarify things and restore order, but I encourage you to take a similar approach and let your creative juices flow! It's okay to add more garlic. I promise. ;-)

My Italian mother taught me to cook and my Irish father taught me to grill, so as you might expect my two favorite types of dishes are Italian and meat & potatoes. =) I never limit myself to just those two though! My boys are unusually adventurous when it comes to trying new foods (worms and crickets did not faze them, lol), so we enjoy trying out new recipies and restaurants of all styles.

Super Bowl Corn DogsI didn't think I had anything to make for dinner, but then I found a pack of hot dogs and this recipe. Only thing I had to change based on available ingredients was half & half instead of milk and vegetable oil instead of peanut oil. I figured the family would like it, but I was surprised by their strong reaction - they really loved it! It has already been requested again, and this time in greater quantities.

Cola ChickenI made this recipe because it seems to be very popular on this website and it sounded too strange and easy not to try out. I went the crock pot route, which was easier, however the sauce will not thicken. The chicken was still good though, and anyway it was not a problem since I had made a brown gravy for the mashed potatoes. I will have to try this again sometime, only next time I will make it in a skillet.
