Ziploc OmeletsThese were fun and easy to make. The teenage kids loved it and I was thinking 2 eggs weren't enought, but guess what - they are plenty! I plan on freezing eggs (add 1 tsp salt per cup of scrambled eggs to stabilize yolks then 4 tbsps = 1 egg) in ziploc bags for the kids to make omlettes any time they want!

Italian Chicken StewI made this in the crockpot much like a traditional stew (I had to work). I cannot eat peppers so I put in carrots and I had some boneless turkey breast chunks that I used and I didn't have garbanzos so I used pintos. This cooked up wonderfully and my family raved and raved how great it was!

Sauted Chicken Breast in White WineYou can be creative by adding herbs like savory, a touch of oregano, thyme or marjoram. We like spices and herbs so I vary what I use. My meatloaf is never the same twice - the kids and hubby love that. [I posted this recipe.]

Apple StrudelYou will need a table you can walk all the way around with plenty of room to move your arms and a clean linen (cotton) tablecloth. It is VERY important to literally beat the hell out of the dough to make it elastic and it is very time consuming and hard to properly pull the dough paper thin. Get plenty of rest before you start this project. Also - do not think rolling the dough out with a rolling pin will be sufficient - it is not. You cannot roll it thin enough to make authentic strudel. [I posted this recipe.]

Homemade YogurtReally good with preserves added like Strawberry jam - yummy!

|
Homemade YogurtI made this last night and my husband and I both love the smooth flavor that does not have the bite of plain yogurt purchased in ths supermarkets. Since he is diabetic this is excellent for his diet and he frequently snacks on yogurt with just a little Splenda in it. Not as difficult to make as it sounds expecially if you prepare it just before everyone in the house goes to bed!

French Cream FrostingI do not remember for sure if Grandma doubled this or not for layered cakes. She used to make sheet cakes most of the time too as my Uncle's family was larger than ours (3 kids). [I posted this recipe.]

|
French Chocolate CakeYou can use just about any pan - 13x9 for a sheet cake (which is what I usually do), 2 - 8 in square pans, 1 - 8 or 9 in round cake pans. If making a layered cake use a different frosting as the Shiny frosting won't be enough - it just puts a very thing layer on a sheet cake. I'll post the other frosting recipe shortly for layered cakes Grandma always used.

French Chocolate Cakesorry, sugar was listed on the recipe in my recipe box in BigOven, don't know what happened there - added the Splenda bit. Thanks for pointing that out!
