Chinese Pepper Steak

Chinese Pepper Steak

I have to admit I wasn't sure about this dish. But, it was delicious!! I made it ahead of time and then just kept it slow cooking in the bottom oven of my Aga for over an hour, and then just reheated to add the spice mixture and then the tomatoes! Really good! And so easy to make!

Simple Hamburger Casserole

Simple Hamburger Casserole

What's not to like!? Admittedly, I left out the mushrooms for my fussy son (21), but he and my husband loved it! I loved it! It was quick, easy and an all-in-one meal. Perfect for a week night when you haven't got a lot of time to cook. The 1 1/2 hours cooking time was a bit over kill, I cooked it in my Aga in 40 minutes.

This recipe needs to be written better! Spelling errors and ingredients not used - eventhough I think I can guess when to add them!

Country Fried Steak with White Gravy

Country Fried Steak with White Gravy

I was very interested in trying this - but what is cubed steak? That is a lot of liquid for the gravy than the amount of flour? Can you check you got your ingredients right?

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Absolutely delicious. I have made it twice already for family and friends. It made more sauce than we needed, but the flavours are terrific

Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef Sandwiches

Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef Sandwiches

This was delicious. I bought a Beef Brisket as we don't have Chuck eye cuts in Britain. I cooked it in the bottom oven of my AGA 24 hours. It was delicious! I thought it tasted best served on Toasted, buttered buns.

The ingredients and the method do not make sense. What veg? If it is celery, do you use the 2 soups?

Ah, but I am American by birth, lived here for 27 years. Big Oven is the only digital recipe software we found that works. I do have to learn to substitute what we can get in England to what is listed in some of the recipes - what a challenge!

I'm in London for a week gaining some direct experience with British foods. Glad to see some of the British "Locals" sharing their opinons and recipes.
