Recipes I've Posted (all 1)

I love cooking recipies from Mexico, specifically from the State of Oaxaca.  Hungarian dishes are another favorite.  International cooking as a whole and family recipeies of all kinds interest me.  I love reading the back stories of recipes when they are available.  Cultures as they relate to and prepare their foods are an endless source of facination.   I admit to reading cookbooks like novels when I can't sleep.  I also admit to asking cooks a million questions when I sample a great dish they've made.  "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well". Orange Julius

Really good. Based on reviews I used less sugar and only a drop or two of vanilla. All four of us loved this fun and foamy blast from the past. Thanks for posting.

Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

Entire family loved this. I made as directed, used the cognac. The sauce was absolutely rich and delicious. The only change I would make is to make 8 smaller patties. You must serve this with mashed potatoes and spoon the extra sauce over them. This rocked our weeknight meal. Thanks for posting

Disappearing Marshmallows

Disappearing Marshmallows

Sugar dumplings! These are perfect with a cup of hot tea and a sweet tooth. I had no trouble with the marshmallow leaking out as another reader had described. The marshmallow melts inside the dough and turns into a glaze like they use on cinnamon buns. While they are warm, they taste totally homemade. Will add this to my sweet favorites.

South-of-the-Border Chicken & Pasta Skillet

South-of-the-Border Chicken & Pasta Skillet

Easy for me. Entire family enjoyed it and asked me to make it again soon. Another bonus is the minimal cost to make per serving. The pasta really stretches the meal. 4 of us at dinner, adults. We ate well and still had at least 2 lunch sized servings left over. Thank you for posting a family favorite

Foil-Pack Chicken and Broccoli Dinner (15)

The whole family enjoyed this and it was so simple to put this balanced meal together because it all bakes in its packet. No mess. Thank you for posting this weeknight wonder meal.

Tzatziki Sauce

Tzatziki Sauce

Made this to go with homemade gyros. This was a hit and received much higher acclaim than did the gyros. Spoons were licked. Now thats a great sauce. Thank you for posting. We all enjoyed this. Will make often.

The World's Moistest Parmesan Crusted Baked Chicken

The World's Moistest Parmesan Crusted Baked Chicken

Absolutely the best parmesan baked chicken ever. The family literally wiped out the pan right at the table and it was so easy to make too. Thank you for posting. This is an immediate favorite in our house.

Banana Split Dessert

Banana Split Dessert

Are you kidding me? How crazy good is this? I made it as written and had to restrain myself from sneaking into the kitchen for thirds. This is some fluffy good fun. Reminds me of how excited I would get as a kid in front of a big assed Sunday. Thank you for sharing this on the big O.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Excellent, comforting, super easy. Used fennel bulb instead of celery but only because thats what was on hand. Excellent soup. Four of us finished the pot. Served soup with crusty bread and crisp green salad. Thank you for sharing. This is going into my favorites.

Layered Taco Casserole

Layered Taco Casserole

How can something so simple be so darn delightful? There were 5 for dinner tonight and the guys just inhaled it. If I had told them about the cottage cheese, they would have freaked so kept it to myself and enjoyed the acclamation of the best taco bake ever. BTW I used the green onions and they were perfect in it. Tanks for making me look good with this recipe. Xxx mwah

Creamy Seafood And Dill Casserole Over Rice

Creamy Seafood And Dill Casserole Over Rice

Amazing dish, easy to make and good enough for company. I used fresh, wild caught scallops and local shrimp. I used half n half instead of evaporated milk because thats what I had on hand. Thank you for sharing this. Its in my favorites and will make it again when I want to show off without actually working for it...meaning often

Zesty Lime Shrimp and Avocado Salad

Zesty Lime Shrimp and Avocado Salad

Crisp bright refreshing. A winning way to show off the beautiful vibrancy of fresh ingredients. I served this in a glass salad bowl to show off all the colors. It was eaten and enjoyed by everyone. That's what determines a fantastic recipe in my book. Thank you for sharing

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Shrimpin' Dippin' Broth

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Shrimpin' Dippin' Broth

Packed with flavor. Tastes like I worked harder than I did. I could only find clamato juice so used that instead of clam juice. Loved the results and will use clamato next time too. I want to find a good Cajun seasoning blend with less salt than the one I used tonight. Thank you for sharing a great meal that is easy and really warms the bones. We just loved soaking up the broth with fresh crusty French bread. We served this with a simple green salad and abundant conversation.

Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwiches

Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwiches

These were excellent. They came out just like the picture posted and were the most elegant beef sandwiches I've ever made. The family loved them. I think next time I will use a 5 pound roast. There are 4 of us and the recipe fed all of us but it was so good we would like leftovers next time. Also, I made this as directed and it was done after 6 hours. Thank you for sharing a recipe that we will enjoy over and over again. Moist beef sandwiches on toasted French rolls and provolone alongside a rich Ajus that could be a soup in its own right. Wonderful meal.

Chicken Piccata with Lemon, Capers and Artichoke Hearts

Chicken Piccata with Lemon, Capers and Artichoke Hearts

This was plate licking good, if one would actually admit to the licking of plates. We had to double the recipe because there were 6 of us. This was amazing and so easy to make. The sauce is so light and lemony with a certain depth provided by the tang of the capers. Thank you for sharing...signed, the shameless plate licking 6
