What's for dinner?
Burwell Runzas

I live in Bulverde, Texas, and work in San Antonio.  I am an elementary school principal and I enjoy cooking for my staff.  Of course, both my staff and my family think that I should cook for them more!.  Unfortunately, my schedule and my kids' schedules often limit my cooking to TV-dinners and drive-through!  The benefit to that is that when I do get to cook I appreciate it more.  I am hoping that getting a lot of my recipes into Big Oven will enable me to cook more because I'll be able to access recipes from my phone.

Recipes I've Posted (all 363)

I love to make desserts!  Give me a special occasion and I'll bake a cake.  Give me simple occasion and I'll show up with brownies!

I  am an excellent cook for two reasons.  My mother was a great teacher and I was a member of 4-H.  Every year, my sister and I took on a different 4-H project that required us to enter something for judging at the county fair.  Competing at that level means that you make a recipe repeatedly until you have it perfect.  People are frequently amazed beause my cookies are always the same size, they don't realize that consistent size, shape and coloring are critical to a judge.  Those lessons have stayed with me.

We loved this and it is perfect for a hot summer day. It was so good that we didn't have leftovers!
