What's for dinner?
Baked Sweet and Sour Chicken

I prefer to bake but like cooking, too.  I think I'm a cookbook addict.  I have a double cabinet (42" wide, three shelves) full of cookbooks.  I also like to garden.  Last year was my first vegetable garden.  Not a great success but I'm going to try again this summer.  I also like to quilt, scrapbook, knit (especially socks), and read.  I enjoy camping in our pop-up camper, and spending time with my two beautiful granddaughters.

Recipes I've Posted (all 75)

I'll try most any recipe with cranberries in it.  I like to try ethic foods--Indian, Asian, Italian; but my husband is pretty much a comfort food person.  My New Year's resolution was to try two new recipes a week and I've stuck to it so far.

Marion's Butterfly Pork Chops and Gravy

I browned the chops and got them in the oven, ran some errands, and finished the dinner when I got home. Perfect!

Karen's BBQ Pork Baby Back Ribs with Spice Rub

Karen's BBQ Pork Baby Back Ribs with Spice Rub

It was 104 degrees when I made these for our 4th of July picnic..I didn't want to have the stove on for 1 1/2 hours,so I used a bottled bbq sauce. But the result was still the hit of the party. I'm thinking I may make a large batch of the bbq sauce in the fall or winter and freezing it until I need it.

Red, White, and Blueberry Trifle

Red, White, and Blueberry Trifle

Everyone at my Fourth of July Picnic liked this and several asked for the recipe. I cut some of the pound cake into stars using a cookie cutter for an extra patriotic punch. I should have heeded another reviewer and doubled the cream mixture.

Foil-Pack Chicken and Broccoli Dinner (15)

Foil-Pack Chicken and Broccoli Dinner (15)

I haven't made this yet, but they require a rating so I gave it three. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this on a grill. Sounds like it would be a good for a camping trip.

Beef Chili with Beans

Beef Chili with Beans

Never made chili from scratch before--then I realized that the prepackaged mixes I was using were just spices all of which I had in my spice rack. So I tried this...it's definitely a keeper. Everyone thought it was two thumbs up--including the 5 year old.

George's Mandarin Orange Chicken

George's Mandarin Orange Chicken

I thought this was quite good. I served it over rice with peas on the side. I might try cutting the chicken into cubes next time, and adding broccoli as someone else suggested for more of a stir fry supper.

Cream Cheese Filled Red Velvet Cupcakes

Cream Cheese Filled Red Velvet Cupcakes

hesr4: I haven't made this recipe (hence the low rating), but I have made red velvet cake and it takes 2 (1 oz) bottles.
