This was fantastic. My family loved. I did a few variations: for the cream sauce I used heavy cream and marscapone cheese I stead of the flour/milk/cream cheese. I also tossed the cooked penne with half the Parmesan before adding the penne to the sauce. The rest went in the sauce. Lastly, I used roasted cherry tomatoes and grilled portobellos instead of the red pepper and added about 1/3 cup of toasted line nuts.
