Excellent cookie. No more than 8 mins in the oven.

Country Biscuits

Country Biscuits

I had the same results as susanmary, with too much soda taste, twice now. I am going to try it a little differently with less baking soda and add in some baking powder. Mine rose just fine and the flavor was good otherwise, even with cheap brand all-purpose flour.

Brie and Apple Stuffed French Toast

Brie and Apple Stuffed French Toast

Good with some modifications. I gave the 'sandwiches' long dips in batter instead of pouring it over because they got too soggy that way. It's still important to get the bread saturated with batter though. I also added a step where I placed them on a baking pan in an oven, preheated to 200ºF and left them around 10 mins to get all the egg and the apple cooked in the middle. I think the orange zest is pivotal but some other people didn't like it.

Chewy Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chewy Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

So simple and lends itself to modification pretty well. I substituted 3/4c of oatmeal flour (I made my own with old fashioned oats in the food processor like Dad used to) to make them more chewy instead of all fluff. I think they are best without the chocolate chips and I'm going to try some dehydrated strawberry bits next! Update: Strawberry bits are amazing!
