Dutch Apple Pie

Dutch Apple Pie

i'm sure this will taste great, but the recipe is very poorly written with a considerable number of inaccuracies in both the ingredients list and the instructions. I ended up having to "wing it" trying to figure out what was meant. Also, i think the butter for the crumb topping should have been very cold, not room temp.

Diner Meat Loaf

Diner Meat Loaf "muffins" (6 Points)

really good - and fun! My husband loved it. This would be a great recipe for kids who might normally dislike meatloaf. The onions and carrots add a nice flavor to the beef, as does the ketchup. And the ketchup on top of each "muffin" is adorable ...and tasy!

Chicken Adobo

Chicken Adobo

Wow - this was fabulous! I cut dwn the recipe a little and used bone-in chicken thighs and it only required 40 minutes of stewing. Next time, I'm making a larger recipe and keeping the leftover chicken for a second meal later in the week. My husband loved this!

Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

great recipe - esp. the cheese sauce, and esp with the cheese I used: Sargento's Reduced Fat Shredded Mexican Blend. However, it took over an hour to bake (total: 1 hr, 20 minutes) and that was even with raising the oven temp to 425 after 30 minutes (and i had my potatoes slived VERY thin!) . I foolishly didn't think to read the reviews ahead of time. Also, I left the cover off for the last 20 minutes to get a nice browning of the cheese on top) I will make it again, but only when i allow enough time to do so.

Pork Tenderloin Diane

Pork Tenderloin Diane

too sour...both hubby and I disliked the sauce, but the method of prepping the tenderloin was good.

Pilgrim's Rest Oven Stew

Pilgrim's Rest Oven Stew

this is really good. I actually dislike beef stew, but my hubby loves it, so i make it for him on a regular basis. THIS is the FIRST beef stew that I have liked in 30 years of trying every recipe under the sun!

Lemon Garlic Chicken Thighs

Lemon Garlic Chicken Thighs

My husband liked it; I didn't. I made only 1/3 recipe and tried to adjust baking time, but I felt the meat was still too dry. If I make it again, I am going to lower the temp and the backing time and use a thermometer to allow me to take it out when internal meat temp is okay.

Savory Pita Chips

Savory Pita Chips

this is soooo good. You could really use any seasoning you like. I did not like the oregano in their mix. The "problem" is that you **want** to eat them immediately. Use a good quality olive oil - it'll make a difference

Wonderful Short Ribs

Wonderful Short Ribs

Spectacular recipe - I got great results without browning the ribs first. Also, DOES NOT NEED A CROCKPOT! I did this in Dutch oven on the stovetop, first 15 minutes thing done on High in dutch over, then cooked on low heat for 2 hours. Secret is keeping the lid on the pot and not checking on it. Also - I did not like the amount of Worcestershire sauce and would cut it in half next time around.
