Pumpkin Scones

Pumpkin Scones

These turned out great and were delicious! I doubled the recipe and was surprised when I got 24 good sized triangle scones out of it. The original yield on the recipe must make huge scones! I also baked them at 400 instead of 425 as only for 12 minutes as I find scones dry out and burn easily. The result was very perfectly textured scones.

Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream

Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream

Made just the icing from this recipe and substituted raspberries for the strawberries. It worked out well. Please note that the icing is more of a meringue than buttercream and is a tad tricky :)

Best Ever Banana Muffins #1

Best Ever Banana Muffins #1

These are simple and delicious. I added smashed almonds as they were the only nut I had on hand and some chocolate chips and it worked :) The brown sugar on top finished it off!

Cheesecake Factory's Carrot Cake Cheesecake

Cheesecake Factory's Carrot Cake Cheesecake

This was delicious. I made it for a Boxing Day family party and it went over well. It was pretty simple to make, but I'd suggest doubling the icing recipe so that you can ice the sides as well, as it doesn't look very 'pretty' I garnished with walnuts on top!

Chocolate Mint Cookies

Chocolate Mint Cookies

These looked fantastic and were the right texture, but had a funny taste to them. I am a chocolate lover and bake a lot but haven't come across this particular taste before.

Nut Goodie Bars

Nut Goodie Bars

These are super yummy and simple, but be sure to grease the pan first! I didn't and ran into major problems removing them from the pan, whereas my mom sprayed her pan and they popped right out.

Gingerbread Men

Gingerbread Men

These turned out great. They puffed up more than I thought they would so be sure to space them enough!

Decorator's Buttercream

Decorator's Buttercream

I used this icing for my Nanny's 80th birthday cake and it was really yummy! It was very easy to work with - dipping the knife in water made it smooth for the finishing layer. A single batch would be enough for most cakes - it is not a good idea to make in a single bowl- it was a mess everywhere!

How much icing does this make? I am making a double layer 9 by 13 cake and need to know if I should double it...

Luscious Lemon Cheesecake

Luscious Lemon Cheesecake

I made this to bring to a Thanksgiving dinner and it went over really well. Be warned that it does not appear cooked - but it is. There was a lot of jiggling at the middle section after all steps of the recipe.

Lemon Sunday Pound Cake

Lemon Sunday Pound Cake

This tasted great. I doubled the recipe and made a double layer 9x13 cake. Since it was for a birthday cake, and was going to be iced, I opted not to do the syrup part. I did put lemon pie filling between in between the layers and this worked well!

Mini Cheesecake Bites

Mini Cheesecake Bites

P.S. Be sure to remove from fridge for maybe 30 minutes before serving or else the Rolo will be too hard!

Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies

Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies

Great cookie recipe. For once my chocolate chip cookies didn't flatten! I did some with the Oreos and some without. I used double stuff Oreos and had to sort of shape the top layer of dough to ensure the Oreo would stay 'hidden'.

Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon Rolls

These turned out to be delicious, but there are a few things to note. One - the total amount of flour is 3.5 cups (is a discrepancy between the ingredients list and the written instructions). Two - there is a lot of filling so letting it set before rolling is key and it will be messy. Three - I chose to remove the rolls while hot and place on parchment paper (wax paper would work too) and that way they didn't stick at all. Four - the ones I did in the glass pan turned out better. Finally - they looked great when I put the glaze in a bag and cut out the corner and piped the icing on. I have never made this type of roll before will use this recipe again!

Whoopie Pies From Angelett

Whoopie Pies From Angelett

Made these for a house party. They went over extremely well. I might make them a bit smaller next time - a heaping teaspoon instead as many people cut them in half. Yum!
