found an awesome welder in 2007 and he makes me laugh every day.  I love cooking for us and our extended family and I love smiling.

looking for a cassarole recipe with a main ingredient of radishes.  I've never cooked cassaroles much and my welder says he's eaten this ... it is "like any other cassarole" ... radishes with sauce I guess.  have tried a few attempts and I'm not doing so well :)  My quilting friends tell me to add canned mushroom soup ... any ideas out there???

Coconut Vegan Chocolate

Coconut Vegan Chocolate

Have various versions now. Like it with all different nuts in chopped process. Usually leave out the big nut pieces and just make chocolate. Freeze in silicone cups to pop out easily, or in a large chunk and cut with a knife. Delicious version with raspberry extract. Also delicious with 1 cup of raisins and 1 T dark molasses. — annmartinson 3/21/2014

50 squares ... and they are relatively rich, so one piece at a time is where I get 50 servings. I added the orange essential oil to give it a touch of orange which I love with chocolate. Also planning to modify and use raspberry essence and fresh raspberries ... or maybe dry the raspberries first. not sure :) — annmartinson 1/23/2014
Beef Chili with Beans

Beef Chili with Beans

love it. make it regularly with lots of variations, but always start with this recipe and just use what I have. family and friends love it. I've made it several times with venison/beef or venison/elk. — sgrishka 11/30/2012

Beef Chili with Beans

awesome. I don't like too hot and this recipe is perfect for me and my husband just adds from his hot sauce collection. delicious! I used dried kidney beans cooked in my pressure cooker. simmered for 2 hours. done. very good! — sgrishka 11/13/2012
Chile Verde de Puerco

Chile Verde de Puerco

this is awesome! I used 16 oz water with 3 tablespoons powdered boullion instead of chicken broth and also 24 oz can of malt liquor for beer (could buy single). also skipped orange zest. My family loves hot-spicy. I usually have to tone it down. they didn't add any hot sauce to this and I was quite happy. it is 'green' spicy. Also the first night I served w/white rice. mistake. it is best on its own as a soup/stew. the second night it was terrific and I served with flour tortillas folded in half over melted cheese. delicious! also, I made this in the crockpot slow-cooker. browned everything first in a pan on the stove. loaded it up, cooked on high for 2 hours, then low. worked great. need to let it cook long enough to soften chiles well. Next time I think I'll add it all together and let it cook. I liked the peppers softer after the overnight-in-the-fridge. — tyson 2/2/2012
Tilapia in ginger and scallion sauce

Tilapia in ginger and scallion sauce

the guys did not like either of these dishes. the fish was mushy, plus they are not fond of soy sauce. it was OK, we ate it, but we won't make again — annmartinson 1/25/2012
Roast Chicken (Mon Poulet Roti) -- Bouchon

Roast Chicken (Mon Poulet Roti) -- Bouchon

going to have to try again. I had in oven 60 minutes, tested leg with thermo at 187 degrees. tested breast at 170. set for 15 min, but underneath side of bird was still bloody. quartered and broiled to finish to serve. it was done enough to eat, but not really done. need to retry. — vogelap 1/23/2012

Smoky Sausage Jambalaya

Smoky Sausage Jambalaya

the family loved it. I used 3 cups of broth vs. 2, 1/4 cup of jalapeno slices, regular un-cooked jasmine rice and 1 T Paul Prudhomme meat seasoning. it was a bit too spicy for me, but I just picked the jalapenos off to the side. very easy — Beachbumette 1/11/2012
Spicy Garlic Rosemary Shrimp & Pasta

Spicy Garlic Rosemary Shrimp & Pasta

we loved it! used 2# of 21/25 shrimp for 3 of us. 1/2 pound of thin spaghetti. 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes because I am a wimp but they added sriracha sauce to taste and we all loved it. — digigirltx 1/9/2012
Split Pea And Ham Steak soup

Split Pea And Ham Steak soup

had this last night, it was delicious. easy to make and perfect consistency. I actually followed the directions and the water to dried pea ratio was perfect! I used leftover ham chunks that were too dry and by the time they were soaked for an hour in the stew they were rehydrated and delicious. This recipe fed four hungry males plus me for our main course. Everyone had a very generous bowl and two had seconds. Thanks! — Jefflundstrom 1/4/2012

Sweet Potatoes with Rosemary and Garlic

Sweet Potatoes with Rosemary and Garlic

I had the yams pre-cooked, so my times don't reflect that my yams were cooked and cooled in advance. I peeled then sliced 3/4" thick. I put all ingredients in the blender to get a smooth rosemary finish. I didn't think it would be enough but it was perfect. and they are DELICIOUS! — bkprice13 11/30/2008

Hi Ann, glad you enjoyed the Ecclefechan tart, it's one of my favourite recipes. I'll be baking one for the family at Christmas - they demand it!
So thanks for the kind words and the medal.
