I am one tiny piece in the massive jigsaw puzzle of life. I love to create through art, painting, interior decorating, writing, music, poetry, sewing, and cooking. My passion is love, and I love with passion. Part of that passion includes nurturing others through fitness and food to help them along their spiritual path. My favorite past times include deep inner work that helps to connect me to the Divine, including yoga, writing, grocery shopping (looking for new products and creating ideas in my head for how to use them), my husband and four cats, friends, family, drinking herbal teas, being a vegan, and creative cooking.

I love Indian food and the sweet fragrances of cumin, cardamom, corriander, turmeric, saffron, rose water, fenugreek, fennel, bay leaves, basil, oregano, black mustard seeds, sage, savory, ... basically every cooking herb available. Not only do I love to eat these foods, but I am a ardent tea granny with a great thirst for herbs. I also burn herbs in my home to help cleanse the environment and create new opportunities by removing negative energies. For me it's all about the variety and spices of life.
Wonderful recipe. Delicious! Only thing I did different is soaked and cooked my own black beans as I don't like to use processed anything if I can avoid it, especially in regards to my food. The fresher the better. Ditto for the canned tomatoes and broth. I make my own homemade stewed tomato preserves, which I used for this recipe. And I make my own homemade broth. — 10/28/2009
