What's for dinner?
cowboy candy
When I first moved out of my parents cave, I decided I'd better learn to cook or else I'd starve!
After nearly a hundred years, I'm pretty good at it, but still learning.
I usually cook for myself, or on a good night, for two.
More than that, and I'll usually make barbecue, a big salad, and maybe buy a sack of oysters.

Recipes I've Posted (all 3)

All of them.
Well, OK, except for Hamburger Helper, mac 'N 'cheese', liver 'N onions,
and margarine.

Sweet Jalapeno Texas preserves

Sweet Jalapeno Texas preserves

I like to serve the candied jalapenos on crackers, cuban or pita bread toast, or melba toast with a shmear of cream cheese. You COULD make a macho peanut butter and jelly sandwich with this if you dare! [I posted this recipe.]

curried eggs and tomatoes

curried eggs and tomatoes

We have a ready supply of delicious organic eggs from free range chickens, and this is a favorite way to serve them. [I posted this recipe.]

Very tasty, appealing to the eye, and easy to make with ordinary ingredients. I recommend it!

Papaya Pie

Papaya Pie

If you grow, or know someone who grows papayas, this a great way to utilize this delicious fruit. It looks a bit like pumpkin pie, and in fact the recipies are very similar. The taste, however, is completely different. This is a real treat!

Mushroom Red Caps

Mushroom Red Caps

This would also make a great appetizer or hors d'oeuvre for a party using smaller mushrooms and tomatoes. Tasty, simple and beautiful.

Spicy Roasted Chicken W/garlic Sauce

Spicy Roasted Chicken W/garlic Sauce

The garlic will be done before the chicken. Be sure to keep an eye on it, and remove it before it gets over cooked [or burned!] beyond the point of usefulness. This is a delicious way to prepare chicken, and I served it with stir fried julienned jicma with cubanelle pepper and more fresh garlic. I would recommend a pinot noir or merlot with this attractive, flavorful entrée.
