I  am a crazed cook by night, boring accountant by day.   I'm gadget crazy and have trained my husband to shop sundays QVC in the kitchen with David for every birthday, anniversary or gift giving occassion.   There are very few counter appliances I don't own, use and LOVE.

I have 3 kids, teen to married.  Disabled husband who's bed ridden...so I have a captive audience of taste testers and always somewhere to send leftovers.

I'd die if I didn't eat atleast one green pepper a day...and I eat it like an apple...my most favorite snack of all time.

Then, pasta, sugar, coffee, pasta, sugar, coffee.

Black Bean Hummus

Black Bean Hummus

This is good, it was a little bland so I used garlic salt and a little red pepper to spice it up. Served it with pita chips 2/8/2010

Careys Homemade Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Don't think I'll ever make another mac n cheese..this was fabulous. So creamy will reheat great all week for my teenagers, and its rich in flavor making it a perfect meal without adding meat !! Definitely a keeper...thanks for sharing. — pdxbodyworx 2/8/2010
Butter Dumplings for Chicken Soup

Butter Dumplings for Chicken Soup

These were tasty and perfect in the soup. I think I'd make a more traditional soup next time with carrot and celery, more hearty. Very nice recipe — lisa222 1/24/2010
Jambalaya, Chicken and Smoked Sausage

Jambalaya, Chicken and Smoked Sausage

I love the flavor of this, and it was easy. BUT, I hated the mushy rice. Seems in the hour it absorbed...it just went to goosh. Not appetizing. Is there another rice that I could use that would hold up better? 1/24/2010

St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake

There was no wow factor here for me...tasted ok, was to involved for the fizzle. — sgrishka 1/24/2010

Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough

I made this up for dinner tonight, topped it with provolone and a disk of sausage then a thin layer of sauce and a heavy sprinkle of parm. It had great flavor. I made the dough in my kitchen aid, kneaded it there too, and I thought it turned out on the tough side. Probably my fault...but the crust was to stiff for my taste. In general a good recipe — RKG1 1/20/2010
Grandma's Sloppy Joes

Grandma's Sloppy Joes

I seriously came home from work feeling like I didn't have energy to fuss and make from scratch, but it took me longer to pull all the ingredients together than to actually cook it. FABULOUS — sgrishka 1/19/2010
Spinach and Mushroom Quiche

Spinach and Mushroom Quiche

Went together easy, love the height-filled my deep dish pie pan beautifully. I made some decorative pie crusts for the top. Only change I made was when I made my pie crust I added fresh herbs to it and pre-baked it for about 10 minutes to make sure it stayed flaky on the bottom. Love the recipe!! 1/17/2010
Mushroom Stuffed Ravioli

Mushroom Stuffed Ravioli

made these this morning, froze them in single layers, and will boil them tonight for family dinner. I add mozzerella cheese to mine. I plan on making a mushroom alfredo to serve over top. A mild pasta dish with depth. 1/17/2010
Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Cajun Shrimp Pasta

I loved this recipe. The 2 cups diced..I assume it should be tomato, but I added sliced mushrooms. And at the end, I added heavy cream and reduced. This went together fast, and was delicious. In fact while I was enjoying it I told my husband "I think I've eaten this somewhere before". Don't ask me where but I highly recommend. 1/16/2010
Lite Chocolate Cake Cookie

Lite Chocolate Cake Cookie

My husbands diabetic, but that hasn"t killed off his sweet tooth. This is a recipe from his childhood that I've played with and adapted to LITE. I tried it will all Splenda and the consistency wasn't right, I made them with all sugar and they still weren't super sweet. I've settled on 1/2 sugar and 1/2 splenda, and I just make sure he doesn't over do. They are good without any icing at all, but sometimes I make a lite milk chocolate icing to bring a little more decadence. — cecils02 1/16/2010

SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CAKE

SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CAKE

Frosting almost takes this moist cake over the top, but pair it with a hot cup of coffee and it works well. My family prefers powdered sugar. [I posted this recipe.] — cecils02 1/10/2010
Wendys Chili

Wendys Chili

I've always loved Wendys chili, because I think it's family friendly. This recipe llived up to my expectations. I made the first batch Saturday for lunch with cornbread on the side, and Invited my kids and their families to stay for the meal. IT WAS GONE. Sunday I made another batch and canned it, made four quarts. Yum Yum 1/10/2010

Blue-Ribbon Apple Cake

Blue-Ribbon Apple Cake

The end result of this recipe surprised me. The batter was extremely heavy and I thought dry, but it turned out delicious. I would recommend a bundt pan, center took a long time to cook. I also drizzled mine with (heavy cream/powdered sugar) drizzle. 1/3/2010
Chicken Bow Tie Pasta

Chicken Bow Tie Pasta

This recipe is foolproof. Just make and enjoy. Lasts in the fridge if kept covered. My kids prefer it hot, I love the ease of a cold salad. I don't feel flavor suffers either way you choose to eat it. [I posted this recipe.] — cecils02 1/2/2010
New York Hot-Dog Chili

New York Hot-Dog Chili

this was good. I've never had New York sauce so if it's close..yum. I left out the chili pepper altogether to make family friendly. Delicious 1/2/2010
