Cajun Country Shrimp Boil

Cajun Country Shrimp Boil

This was delicious and a lot of fun. I'll definitely be making it again. — promfh 3/28/2014
Tilapia with White Wine and Lemon Basil Sauce

Tilapia with White Wine and Lemon Basil Sauce

The sauce was great, but my fish came out a little mushy. Probably more to do with the quality of the filets and little to do with recipe, though. — mpau0516 3/28/2014
Hawaiian Sweet Roll Ham Sandwich Sliders

Hawaiian Sweet Roll Ham Sandwich Sliders

I remember enjoying these as a kid, but I didn't like them as much as an adult. The sauce on the outside makes them messy eats, and left a lingering sort of fattiness (probably the butter?) behind in my mouth. Not bad, just better in my memory. — beberogers 1/25/2014
Tuna Pasta Bake

Tuna Pasta Bake

Looks like I'm in the minority, but this just wasn't my cup of tea. The tomato sauce had a really great flavor, to the point that I wished there was more of it. Amidst cheese and tomato and mayo, the tuna flavor was strangely absent. It was stronger the next day, but just didn't seem to fit in. 1/25/2014
The Best Beef Stroganoff

The Best Beef Stroganoff

This was a decent dish. I felt like the sour cream really overpowered the other flavors, though. Not bad at all, just kind of one-note for my tastes. — sunnyd36 1/25/2014
New York-Style Pizza Sauce

New York-Style Pizza Sauce

Excellent. Up until now, I've been too lazy to make my own pizza sauce. But this was ridiculously simple, and worlds better than anything from a jar or can. I'll definitely be making it again. — rstuessi 1/25/2014
Pad See-Ew

Pad See-Ew

I'm not going to to rate based on my execution, because I have a knack for turning stir-fry noodle dishes into a lovely mush. So let's talk about the flavor, which is fantastic. This sauce is actually my go-to stir fry sauce right now. Just, you know, no noodles. — kesmit77 1/7/2014
Stir-Fried Veggies

Stir-Fried Veggies

Nothing fancy here, but it fits the bill when you need a light supper on the fly. The addition of the jalapeno is nice. I'd eat this dish again. 1/7/2014
Extraordinary Stuffed Peppers

Extraordinary Stuffed Peppers

I was really pleased to discover this recipe. I'm not really into the traditional stuffed bell peppers, but my wife loves them. These are so much better, and a great compromise. I usually include a little rice in my filling, and reduce/eliminate the meat. The recipe is very versatile, and it's fun to experiment with the filling, using whatever veggies and etc. you have on hand. — TheKitchenWitch 1/6/2014
Caldo Gallego (Spanish White Bean Soup)

Caldo Gallego (Spanish White Bean Soup)

I've made this a couple of times now, and I really enjoy it-- despite the fact that I can't find anywhere that sells Spanish chorizo in my area. So far, I've made do with sweet Italian sausage. But the recipe is good enough that I'm determined to make it properly one of these days! — JerseyBlue 1/6/2014
Pasta Pomodoro

Pasta Pomodoro

I made this one night just because I had the ingredients and it seemed simple enough. I was amazed at how great it was for being such a simple recipe. It'll definitely become a regular dish in my house. — wurstel 1/6/2014
Brown Gravy

Brown Gravy

I sure wouldn't have thought to find ketchup and mustard in a gravy recipe, but it works! Adds kind of a pleasant tang to the sauce. It paired up well with my meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Definitely worth a try. — foodology101 1/6/2014
Oxygen Mac and Cheese

Oxygen Mac and Cheese

I promise I really tried to like this recipe! It's definitely healthier, but it's also just too dry and too bland for my tastes. I think it may be a case where you just can't fake the real thing... — juliefindley 12/16/2013
Jools’s Favourite Beef Stew by Jamie Oliver

Jools’s Favourite Beef Stew by Jamie Oliver

This was a little different from your normal stew, but perfectly good. I used what root veggies I could find, swapping turnips for the parsnips and sweet potato for the butternut squash. Between the wine and the sweet potatoes, it had kind of a sweet and spicy flavor that was unusual, but delicious. My only complaint was that there wasn't much variety in appearance or texture. I don't know if I'll make it on the regular, but I'll probably make it again once in a while. — tdphillips 12/16/2013
Irish Rovers Unicorn Pub Shepherds Pie

Irish Rovers Unicorn Pub Shepherds Pie

This is the stuff! I've tried a couple of other Shepherds' Pie recipes on bigoven, and this one is the definite winner. I usually add in some peas, but it's perfect as is 12/16/2013

German Soft Pretzels

These are great. Easy to make comfort food. 12/16/2013
Careys Traditional Gyro Meat

Careys Traditional Gyro Meat

I made this recipe for topping some Greek nachos, and it did the job admirably. It isn't exactly like gyro meat, but (as it says up top) it's as close as I could get making it myself. — pdxbodyworx 11/18/2013
Black Bean Burgers (spicy Optional!)

Black Bean Burgers (spicy Optional!)

Great veggie burger recipe! It holds together nicely in the pan, and it's got a lot of flavor and texture to it. Ive tried a few other recipes, but this is my go-to from here on out. — atscott 11/18/2013
Baked Parmesan Fish

Baked Parmesan Fish

This is a great way to bake tilapia. The outside gets brown and crunchy, but the inside stays moist. I usually add a handful of Panko crumbs and a dribble of olive oil into my mix. Gives it a little more texture. — Love7721 11/18/2013
Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

I like this crust. It has a good ratio of white to wheat flour. Still tastes whole wheat-ey, but doesn't have the density of a brick. Thanks for sharing! — homesteadrecipes 11/18/2013
