Southern-Style Oven Fried Chicken

Southern-Style Oven Fried Chicken

What is 3/23 t? I made this recipe for company & was very embarrassed that it was so flavorless!! I quickly got out the Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ sauce & passed it around.

Brie and Apple Chicken Breasts

Brie and Apple Chicken Breasts

The recipe didn't specify the type of apples, but the picture looked like red apples, so I used those- big mistake!! The recipe should be made using Granny Smith apples. Eben then, though, this recipe was very flavorless. We were so excited because it sounded so wonderful, but so BLAND. I froze the leftover checken breasts & am trying to figure out a way to "save" the recipe.

BBQ Meatballs

BBQ Meatballs

We made this tonight for dinner & served it over brown rice. It was really delish, but heavy on the vinegar. Next time I will cut down on the vinegar. The ratio of sauce to meat & rice was perfect.

Beef With Broccoli Stir Fry

Beef With Broccoli Stir Fry

I LOVE this recipe!!! I absolutely love Broccoli Beef & have always wanted to know how to make it. This recipe was totally DELISH!! The key is the sugar!! I didn't have oyster sauce, so used stir fry sauce. Also, I am a little unclear on what is meant by "light" vs "dark" soy sauce. I struggled with that until I decided just to use "light" on salt soy sauce for the "light" & to just use regular for the "dark".

Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff

I have made this recipe a few times now- my family (all grown) loves it!!! I also had trouble finding cream of onion soup here in Ca, so used french onion soup, I always replace cream of mushroom soup called for in a recipe with cream of chicken as it has more flavor & replaced stew beef with top sirloin steak, sliced thin while frozen, then simmered for a half hour in the french onion soup mixture before adding other ingredients & the meat was very tender. Simmering the meat in the onion soup also reduces the soup & the stroganoff consistency is perfect!! I use rice, due to the limitations of one of my family members.

Chicken Enchiladas with a twist

Chicken Enchiladas with a twist

I ended up doubling the meat due to the soupiness of the filling. I made enough to freeze 2 large pans of it & recently served it for a family gathering. The family loved it!!

Mom's No Bake Cookies

Crisco Peanut Butter Cookie

Crisco Peanut Butter Cookie

When I made this, I used 2C of super-chunk peanut butter, which made the cookies really peanut buttery & added texture. I also added a bunch of semi-sweet chocolate chips to the recipe. I received a lot of compliments on this. Also, Crisco's recipe is the same, but calls for 1T of vanilla, not 1t. Thanks for a great recipe!!!
