Lemon Shrimp with Asparagus and Angel Hair

Lemon Shrimp with Asparagus and Angel Hair

We really liked this recipe. We like things spicy so would add more red pepper. Something to be aware of: be sure to make only the amount of pasta called for in the recipe. I made more not realizing that it would get mixed together with the sauce, so it was less flavorful than it should have been. Even with that it was still delicious and easy. Just thought I'd mention this for future cooks. — Rolex 6/30/2014
Ginger and Cilantro Baked Tilapia

Ginger and Cilantro Baked Tilapia

Oh my goodness this was a delicious recipe. I could eat it every week! My husband added a jalapeno for a bit of kick. We used the paste type of garlic and ginger, the kind that comes in a tube in the produce section. I think that allowed the flavors to permeate the fish better. — andreaiacovetta 6/21/2014
Grilled Chicken Breast with Garlic Lemon Marinade

Grilled Chicken Breast with Garlic Lemon Marinade

It was good and helped the chicken be perfectly tender which is a plus, but it wasn't high in flavor. Next time I'd try something with more spice. 6/20/2014
Best Pumpkin Soup Ever

Best Pumpkin Soup Ever

Great delicious recipe. I added a leek instead of one of the onions per the comments of another reviewer and it was pure heaven. You would never think you were eating health food. Plus it was decently easy to prepare. — MissMmm 10/29/2013
Gingered Turkey with Potatoes and Chick Peas

Gingered Turkey with Potatoes and Chick Peas

Very tasty for a quick weeknight meal. A few notes: 1) turkey cutlets were impossible to find, so I just used a thicker type of raw turkey and cut it in thinner slices and it worked fine. 2) We found that there were too many potatoes, and that they needed to be cut in smaller pieces. 3) The spices are excellent if you like ginger. We did not, however, think that the whole recipe was as flavorful as it could have been because the turkey and spices get cooked together and then the rest gets added. We're thinking it will be better day 2 when everything is coated with seasoning. — tyson 10/15/2013
Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

This was less rich and intense than I was expecting. The ingredient list calls for tomato purée not sauce, but the recipe says sauce. Maybe sauce would help. I also think the rice matters and I made mine too watery, so that could be part of the problem. — RexBoyle 8/9/2013

Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana

This is a very good recipe. Could not find italian sausage so I used andouille. This mod worked fine. I like it spicy so when I make it again I will double the red pepper. — gordonsgrub 1/31/2013
Spicy 7 Bean Soup

Spicy 7 Bean Soup

Made broth from Better Than Bouillon Ham and added a little too much which made it a little salty. Make sure you follow your broth instructions closely. — Heatherina 10/9/2012

Corn, Cilantro and Black Bean Soup (Mf)

Corn, Cilantro and Black Bean Soup (Mf)

I would make it again if modified. It needed extra lime juice, lots of cayenne, and was better in our opinion with pimento but without sour cream. I also think it would be better without chicken. 12/25/2009

Lucys Salmon Soup

I left out the dill, which neither my husband nor I care for. It was a great way to use some cans of stuff we needed to use. It did take a bit longer than expected because it took the potatoes a while to cook, so budget for that. — ememkai 10/14/2009

Southwest Cactus Salad

Just excellent. The tangy lime cactus flavor and easy prep makes this a regular favorite. I would recommend saving time by chopping the veggies in a food processor. So quick and easy. 10/6/2009

STRAWBERRY-RHUBARB FOOL

STRAWBERRY-RHUBARB FOOL

It was good. However, note that the recipe does not say what to do with the strawberries. I decided to cook the rhubarb and add the strawberries at the end after turning off the heat, refrigerating them together. This was based on other recipes I found. It worked fine. — JGG 6/17/2007

Cajun Fettuccine

I would add more cajun seasoning to the sauce while cooking, and also sprinkle liberally on finished dish. Might also add salt if cajun/creole seasoning is salt free. 3/26/2007
Heartland Fiesta Whole Wheat Organic Spaghetti

Heartland Fiesta Whole Wheat Organic Spaghetti

This had excellent flavor. My one comment is that you might want to experiment with using less pasta, or mixing pasta individually based on amount of sauce preferred. For us, it didn't quite have enough sauce. But it was still delicious, and a good way to sneak in some whole grains without giving up flavor. [I posted this recipe.] — Heatherina 3/24/2007
