Easy Breakfast Potatoes

Easy Breakfast Potatoes

Very nice, easy recipe to help round out breakfast (or any meal). I used small red potatoes because I had them on-hand. A little cayenne pepper would have been a nice addition, as would some crumbled bacon or chives.

Asian Salad

Asian Salad

The tri-color shredded cabbage we use also has carrots which make a nice addition to the salad. [I posted this recipe.]

Grilled Cheese Deluxe

Grilled Cheese Deluxe

Great with tomato soup. Be careful of how thick/thin the slices of tomato and avocado are, this sandwich can get thick quickly and then be hard to flip in the pan. Would also be great in a sandwich press. [I posted this recipe.]

Smashed Potatoes

Smashed Potatoes

Goes great with typical potato "fixings": sour cream, chives, bacon bits, crumbled bacon, bacon chunks, or BACON! [I posted this recipe.]

Cajun Country Shrimp Boil

Cajun Country Shrimp Boil

This is a fantastic recipe I've made a half-dozen times. The only hard part for me has been making sure the potatoes are boiled long enough as they take longer than any of the other ingredients. I always add a variety of sausage. This recipe really wows the crowds, and is easy to make.

Shrimp Scampi Cilantro

Shrimp Scampi Cilantro

I went a little heavier on the cilantro, since the wife and I like it a lot. I also didn't have any vermouth so I substituted vodka. It was good enough that I don't think I'd switch to vermouth. The extra sauce from the shrimp was put in a bowl for dipping the shrimp. Very tasty.

Honey Mustard Pork Chops

Honey Mustard Pork Chops

It was good, but didn't heve the flavor I hoped for. Would be better (to me) if it were crusty. Maybe pan searing or briefly grilling first or broiling the last few minutes?

Brats Braised with Beer and Onions

Brats Braised with Beer and Onions

Brats in beer is a great combination. So many variations, including grilling the brats over medium-low heat and then transferring them to a simmering pot pot of beer and onions. They can be kept ready to serve for hours like this, a great way to prepare for a big party.
