What's for dinner?

I love to cook. The first time my mother let me near the stove to actually cook something was when I was 7 yrs. old; before that I was her prep crew, you know I cut up the veggies and cracked the eggs. I was the only kid in my 8th grade foods class that could cut up a chicken. I made my first Thanksgiving dinner at the age of 13. I LOVED every minute of that day.

I enjoy making breakfast. French toast cassarole is the best thing you can make on Christmas morning, pop it in the oven before the kids start opening their presents and by the time everything is cleaned up, and the children have taken their gifts upstairs to their rooms you will not have to twist any arms to get them to hurry the smell of the cinnamon will have them running to fullfill your every order.

So I tried this, it was good. I found the broth to be bland so I had to add more seasoning to the dish. I opted for McCormick seasoning all and more garlic powder and some onion powder. We also made some coleslaw and put that on the hoagy sandwich oh so good, we do that all the time with pulled pork bbq and it works with pulled beef just as well. We plan to make beef vegetable soup tonight with the leftovers.

Rustic Cabbage Soup

Rustic Cabbage Soup

The rustic cabbage soup was easy to make, had to add additional seasonings, pepper, McCormick seasoning all, and some Kirkland organic non salt seasoning, it really added a depth of favor that was missing. It was great for St. Patrick's Day will make it again next year.
Note: My father liked it a lot but said it needed some heat so he added some hot sauce to his bowl.
