I do technical support, and am a computer geek. I like: interesting pets, playing games, learning photography, my iPhone, all sorts of music.  I enjoy cooking interesting things in the kitchen at home, and having a way to keep up with the favorite recipes we come across.  We love a good local food festival, and as many other interesting activities that we can get into, like DragonCon and the SCA.

Favorites?  I guess that would have to be Asian, seafood, pasta...  I love all kinds of food though!

Campbell's? Green Bean Casserole

Campbell's? Green Bean Casserole

It's one of those things we have to have, every year. I picked up a tip from a friend: add some chicken bouillon for richer flavor. I also added in a package of sliced fresh mushrooms and it was even more tasty! — danas 11/26/2014

Cheddar Biscuits

Cheddar Biscuits

I used buttermilk instead of milk. The copy of the recipe I was looking at didn't list oil, though I think it will be a good idea to include next time. They were delicious. — fireb4smoke 3/25/2013
Creamy White Lasagna

Creamy White Lasagna

The standard size of cream cheese in packages is 8 oz. Also as I mentioned in comment below, I used 6 lasagna noodles, for 2 layers. 3 each layer. But you can really vary it however fits best for what you have to work with. (: — mermaiden 3/7/2012
Perfect Peeled Hardboiled Eggs

Perfect Peeled Hardboiled Eggs

I never actually let the eggs come to temperature before cooking, just put them in the pan with the water and let it all heat up together. This method NEVER fails me! It is awesome to be able to peel the peeling off the egg in 1 solid piece, EVERY time! Just be sure to break them good *before* they cool by bouncing them a couple times. Then you can cool them down to peel. — mermaiden 11/8/2010
Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip

Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip

Everyone at work just can't get enough of this (me included). Never any leftovers! I actually made some from whole chicken pieces... cooked, cubed, then torn up - gives it the loose texture like canned. — mermaiden 7/16/2010
Best Pie Crust Ever

Best Pie Crust Ever

Okay, this is totally now my favorite pie crust recipe. Everything always calls for shortening, and all I ever have is butter. This is just perfect. — StratusChef 6/30/2010

Apple Brown Betty with Brown Sugar Whipped Cream

I had never heard of an Apple Brown Betty but it's exactly what I had a taste for! This is a great and easy recipe for it. 6/19/2010
Erica's Chicken A La King

Erica's Chicken A La King

This is about as close to my own recipe as I can find. Except I used chicken + mushroom boullion, plus milk, instead of cream of mushroom soup and evaporated milk. I'd like to try it that way next time though. — kcred 6/19/2010

Singapore Mai-Fun

Singapore Mai-Fun

I made the BBQ pork myself (recipe179282). After I poured the remaining caramel sauce over the meat, it was pretty saucy and I simply added the Mai Fun sauce to that. I just used 1 regular packet of Mai-Fun noodles from the grocery store, which was about 6 or 8 ounces..... I think the recipe would have been saucy enough for just a few more noodles, but it worked out fine that way. After making the dish the 2nd time we decided we preferred it with other Asian noodles (like lo mein style ones) instead of the rice noodles. I didn't want to add jalapenos, but I did add a few drops of chili oil. I retained the mushroom water and used it when creating chicken bouillon. [I posted this recipe.] — mermaiden 2/15/2010

Hi there. In your butternut squash casserole recipe, you didn't mention the oven temp to cook it. Thanks :)

Oh hi, I didn't post that recipe myself but what you're looking for is 1/4 cup of Bailey's. They're great. Enjoy!

Hello, I really wanted to try your Baileys Irish Cream Truffles, however, you have not listed Baileys in your ingredients list so I have no idea how much to use. Could you please make changes to the recipe. I want to make them for autumn holidays. Thanks.
