I.am a registered nurse living in Knoxville. I love to cook, and love to eat! Trying new recipes is a favorite thing to do. I collect cookbooks, and have several hundred of them. Reading is nor of my delights. I have a beautiful retired greyhound, Abigail , who is the sweetest girl. Beef Wellington, Scallops any way, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, steaks, fresh vegetables, eggs benedict, --I just love to cook and eat.

Have just served this to company again--it is a huge success every time! After the meal, quickly heat a damp terry towel in the microwave, one for each guest. — missellie41 5/25/2013

Did this with thighs, and it was AWESOME! I was afraid it was getting too brown, but just relax--it's okay. Served it with stuffing and sautéed asparagus. Perfect! — npiromsuk 7/3/2012

Ellie,

What exactly are you looking to make with shallots? Though there is not an exact substitute usually white or red onions in a small dice will do the trick. You could also use the white portion of scallions, depending on the recipe.
