I live in NC.  I use to cook at a deli and a restaurant but I am now in healthcare.  I love cooking and love finding new recipes to try.

Macaroni and Cheese, Tomato Soup, Chocolate Silk Pie.

Applesauce Spice Cake

Applesauce Spice Cake

This recipe was easy to make. I was able to make it with ingredients I had on hand. I made this for my husbands birthday and he loved it. I used a 9X13 glass pan to bake it in and it was the perfect amount of batter. You could also use 2 - 8in or 9in pans. The spice in this cake worked well together. It was also a very moist cake. I iced it with a buttercream frosting made with earth balance natural buttery spread instead of butter. My husband is lactose intolerant. It would be really good sprinkled with powdered sugar as well. — ksearsjr 9/13/2014
Hersheys Chocolate Syrup

Hersheys Chocolate Syrup

Who knew it was so simple to make my own "Hershey's" chocolate syrup. This recipe is really good. It is chocolatey without being too sweet. I have used this syrup in chocolate milk and on ice cream. I'll never go back to store bought. 2/21/2014
Quinoa, Broccoli, & Cheese Casserole

Quinoa, Broccoli, & Cheese Casserole

I have been trying to make more meatless meals for my family. This was my first time cooking with quinoa. This recipe was great. It was very easy and quick to make and the whole family liked it. This one is a keeper. — burnsma55817 2/11/2014
Black Bean Burgers (spicy Optional!)

Black Bean Burgers (spicy Optional!)

I made this recipe tonight to go with my tomato soup recipe. It was delicious. It was very easy to make and cheap. The texture was like silk and it had the perfect amount of spices. I will be adding this recipe to my weekly rotation. The leftovers will make an easy lunch. — atscott 1/17/2014
Cheesy Mexican Cornbread

Cheesy Mexican Cornbread

I've made this recipe a couple of times. It's a great easy cornbread recipe. I substituted cheddar because I did not have the longhorn cheese. It came out great. It's awesome with chili. — Beachbumette 5/20/2013
Homemade Strawberry Jam

Homemade Strawberry Jam

This is a great recipe. It is pretty easy to make jam. Just be careful because it is hot. Tastes great and I love knowing exactly what is in it. I am planning on making this with variations of fruit combinations. 8/28/2012
Simply the Best Pumpkin Pie

Simply the Best Pumpkin Pie

Two cans of pumpkin are usually 15 oz each which would be about 850 grams (for 30 oz). Most canned pumpkin in the USA is just cooked pumpkin and maybe some sort of preservative. Instead of canned pumpkin, I buy pie pumpkins about the size of a small (size 4)soccer ball. That usually gives me enough pumpkin for two pies about a cup and a half each. I cut the pumpkin in half and bake both halves cut side down on a baking sheet with a little water (on the baking sheet) at about 350 degrees until soft about 40 to 60 minutes. You should be able to scoop it out and mash it with ease after it has cooled off a bit. 11/30/2011
Best Ever Caramel Corn

Best Ever Caramel Corn

If you love caramel popcorn this is the recipe for you. Much better than store bought because you know exactly what is in it. I will defiantly be making this at least twice a month. My husband and kids loved it. I might even make it this year for holiday presents. — LadyJay 7/20/2011
Shredded Slow Cooker Honey Chicken

Shredded Slow Cooker Honey Chicken

This chicken was so good. I made this yesterday and the whole family loved it. It was easy to make. Makes a great filling for a sandwich. I might use a little less soy sauce next time. — kirby1777 7/20/2011
Southwestern Slow Cooker Chicken & Potato Soup

Southwestern Slow Cooker Chicken & Potato Soup

This was a great easy recipe. I did not have sweet potatoes or frozen corn so I used canned corn (added at the very end) and I used white potatoes. My whole family loved it and my husband even ate it as a leftover. I will defiantly make this again. I will try it with the sweet potatoes next time. 7/18/2011
Beef-Mushroom Stir-Fry

Beef-Mushroom Stir-Fry

The ingredients and the directions do not match. The ingredients are for beef stir fry and the directions seem to be for a pecan pie, apple pie, or clams I hope this can be fixed. 5/28/2010
Stir - Fry Chicken with Garlic Sauce

Stir - Fry Chicken with Garlic Sauce

I was looking for a good stir fry sauce recipe. This one looked easy so I decided to try it. The sauce was easy to make and tasted good. Some people might want to add red pepper flakes for a little kick and some spices for more flavor. I added more garlic than called for and served it with onions, green peppers, and carrots on a bed of rice. 5/13/2010
Broccoli, Red Pepper, And Cheddar Chowder

Broccoli, Red Pepper, And Cheddar Chowder

I liked how easy this recipe was to make. I did not have a red pepper so I just omitted it. I added extra cheddar and a little cayenne pepper to spice it up. Over all this is a good recipe. — promfh 3/3/2010

Glad you enjoyed the Viniagrette. It's one of our "go to's" so nice to hear that others like it, too.
