Love this recipe, but I gave it my own twist.
I browned ground turkey in the microwave, raking it with a fork to make it "crumbled".
I added various seasonings, Allspice, Mrs. Dash, Cayenne Pepper, Worchestershire sauce,
and a bit of chicken gravy mix. It made a moist, almost soup like mix, but with a kick.
Then added canned diced tomatoes, corn, and peas. Put it in a 13x9 baking pan, and baked this by itself for 30 minutes to add a little "firmness" before adding the mashed potato layer, and put a little bit of cheese on top.With more cheese on the side to top off.
My husband is out harvesting...and this is not a fussy dish, we can leave it in the oven for whenever he gets home!
