Definitely learning to love cooking, especially when it's for entertaining a guest at the Bear Cave! Even when it's cooking for one, the idea of all fresh, all the time puts me in full control of what's going into my body and that feels good!

Seafood, steaks, big-ass salads are some of my favorite treats. Crock-pot cooking is always very practical for me - slide a roast and some veggies in the oven and I'm set for a week of great eating! Check out my video blogs about food and eating healthy

Spicy Kale

Perfect! Left out the red pepper flakes and still had enough kick to make it interesting! 12/26/2013

Preparation is fun when done as a team ;-) we used lobster tails instead of whole lobster, and cut down on some of the other ingredients to make the finished meal the right size for two calorie-conscious people. The finished result - a weekend of great eating! — prestonknapp 12/26/2013
Crock Pot BBQ Boneless Beef Ribs

Crock Pot BBQ Boneless Beef Ribs

Marinated the ribs in red wine vinegar and Jack Daniel's for about an hour before tossing into the pot. Left out the BBQ sauce to save a few calories. Tasted great! — garysmith1 12/26/2013
Lemon Pasta with Roasted (or Grilled) Shrimp

Lemon Pasta with Roasted (or Grilled) Shrimp

Excellent dish! Omitted the butter to save some calories and used 3 oz. Chobani plain Greek yogurt instead (an idea used previously in another recipe). Added 1/4 cup of Classico® Roasted Garlic Pasta Sauce. Used wheat penne pasta instead of angel hair. — red2002yzfr1 12/26/2013
Kale with Garlic And Bacon

Kale with Garlic And Bacon

My version used pre-cooked bacon with a sprinkle of rice vinegar once it hit my bowl. A little less fat and calories and still came out very flavorful. Also used a little less water. 12/26/2013

Grilled Asparagus

Great recipe! It's worked out twice for me - once on top of the stove in a skillet, and the second time in the oven using my grill pan and press. — JRowan 12/26/2013
Bacon Wrapped Prawns with Chipotle Bbq Sauce

Bacon Wrapped Prawns with Chipotle Bbq Sauce

This was a great inspiration for me! Substituted lobster for the prawns and took Valentine's dinner to a whole nuther level!! — Firebyrd 10/30/2013
Penne rosa with mushrooms/shrimp

Penne rosa with mushrooms/shrimp

This is a great recipe, mainly because it can be freaked-out any number of ways. Swap spaghetti for the penne, or kale for the spinach. Sauté any number other items to add to the equation. It will be the basis for lots of great one-man dinners! — kicaza 10/30/2013
Seared Filet Mignon

Seared Filet Mignon

Great recipe! Mine was marinated in a white cooking wine/white balsamic/Jack Daniel's concoction over night. The cooking was the interesting part, as the apartment did become a smoke-filled room pretty quickly! Mos def will be on the menu again! 10/29/2013
Dad's Crockpot Manhattan Clam Chowder

Dad's Crockpot Manhattan Clam Chowder

Great recipe and easy to prepare. Diced up two organic whole tomatoes instead of canned. Added one can of red clam sauce and one can of organic tomato paste. May add two cans of clam sauce, and one more tomato next time — DCJim 3/27/2013
