I love cooking, not so much baking. I read all the time, and can read cookbooks like they were the most exciting novels.  My husband doesn't get it, but he appreciates the results!

I have two teenage daughters and we live right in the middle of the Rocky Mountains.  It's great to watch the sun come up sitting in our hot tub when it's 20 degrees outside!
I think my favorite food to eat is a well prepared Prime Rib.  Went to a popular chain restaurant for Memorial Day and ordered their prime rib - it was so thin and bland I had to go out that next day and buy my own roast and cook it!  Yummy!  Favorite foods to prepare?  I like foods that have an unexpected quality to them - I have a great recipe for a spicy grilled pork tenderloin that is always a big hit.  Most memorable cooking experiences have been my goof-ups:  when I was about 12 I decided to surprise my parents with one of the no-bake cheesecake kits - unfortunately I mixed everything together, including the graham cracker crumbs!  So we had a fairly tasty "cheesecake pudding" instead.  Also one time I made a blackberry buckle and forgot to put the flour in - the berries sat in and then baked in all that sugar until they kind of fermented!  Gave each bite an interesting "zing."

This wasn't horrible, but it was pretty bland. Honestly I didn't find it much better than Hamburger Helper stroganoff, and it was more work. My family agreed. — Harveysangel 8/5/2008

Easy Grilled Chicken Marinade

This chicken was so moist after taking off the grill! My whole family loved it. I did use different herbs - basil — stevemur 7/15/2008

I didn't find this recipe remarkable. It was a little too salty even though I didn't add salt during the cooking. I think it was from the stock cubes. It smelled great cooking, but I think I'd prefer a traditional beef stew, or a different recipe I have with beer, brown sugar — yvonnecooks 6/12/2008
Chicken Milanese - Breaded Chicken Cutlets

Chicken Milanese - Breaded Chicken Cutlets

This was very good and easy. My teenage daughter had requested it after seeing an Olive Garden commercial (we don't have one nearby) and she said it was probably better than theirs anyway! Her boyfriend, who doesn't normally like chicken that much said, "Hey, this is pretty good!" I didn't bother with the pounding, and as a note, the chicken is easier to butterfly if it is slightly frozen. I used a combination of Panko crumbs — sgrishka 6/12/2008
